  • What makes you get out of bed every morning? Coffee, just kidding. I am passionate to help people on a personal level and professional level. I want to make a difference in people’s lives, this includes my colleagues, my direct reports, family and friends.
  • What has been your most professional achievement? Being in a Quality role, you want to be seen as a business partner and not a SHOW STOPPER. I’ve been in Quality for over 22 years and I have to say that my greatest achievement is that I’ve helped foster a culture of communication and collaboration between regions, corporate and business unit partners. I like to explain THE WHY, and provide solutions that will meet our regulatory requirements and meet the needs of our business partners and customers.
  • What has been the biggest professional crisis you have suffered? An example of a time I managed a significant crisis is when I had to manage a project deadline and deal with a family illness. I’ve been very fortunate to work for Leaders that believed in the importance of work-life integration and it was very evident that they put their family first.  This made it very easy for me to discuss my personal situation and come up with a solution that ensured that I was their for my family member.
  • What would you do differently if you could start again? I wish I continued to take French classes beyond high school. I wish I was fluent in French. However, it is never too late to learn a new language.
  • What are you currently learning? I am currently completing my Green Belt Certification. My project is FCA Execution Excellence and the main objective is to engage the right stakeholders to provide Right the First Time Information for every process step.
  • Humility is the ground virtue of leadership. When thinking in a humble leader you came to my mind; What can you elaborate about this? What is most important to me is to watch others succeed and acknowledging that the success of a team and an organization is all about the people. I am a true believer of advocating for others and making sure that they are being heard. I love to learn and I love learning from my team, my family and friends.

One of the most important aspect of inspiring a team is to ensure that they take personal responsibility of their actions. It is important to learn from our mistakes so that we continue to grow and develop”

  • How would you define yourself as a leader?.  To answer this question it is best that I reflect on my WHY: To continue to be trustworthy, empathetic and impactful Quality Leader focusing on continuous improvement activities and deliver value added processes, so that we become a highly effective organization. My focus is to inspire my team, drive results, to be collaborative with our operational and commercial partners and most importantly to communicate openly.
  • What is the primary characteristic of a leader? Integrity is the foundation of leadership.
  • What are you doing or have you done to inspire your team? Empower the team and always have them focus on the WHY! One of the most important aspect of inspiring a team is to ensure that they take personal responsibility of their actions. It is important to learn from our mistakes so that we continue to grow and develop.
  • Tell me a Leader who has positively influenced you. Why? I’ve had many inspirational leaders, coaches and mentors over the years, but I have to say my Mom and Dad have inspired me the most. They never put any pressure on me or tell me I had to go into a certain profession, but what they taught me was to put 100% in everything I do on a personal and professional level.
  • More than 10 years in leadership positions; What you will say to empower other women to jump into leadership roles? I was very fortunate to go through the Amplify Program at work and one of the topics that resonated the most with me is to let go of the idea of perfection!!  I would tell women to make sure their voices are heard, to advocate for each other and celebrate their strengths.

I want to be remembered as someone who was passionate about life, cared about people and inspired others to the best they can be”

  • What does working in the Health Sciences industry mean to you? I always wanted to help people and make a difference in their lives. I wanted to ensure that what ever path I took that it would have a purpose and that is exactly how I feel for working for a Medical Device company. The companies I worked for were always patient focused.
  • What would you like to do if you were not what you are today? I would want to be a Teacher – specifically a high school teacher. I love to coach and mentor people.
  • What legacy do you want to leave in this world? I want to be remembered as someone who was passionate about life, cared about people and inspired others to the best they can be.
  • What are you doing to get it done? I continue to reflect on my WHY: To continue to be trustworthy, empathetic and impactful leader.
  • Finally; What would be your recommendation for young talents who are starting their career? To always believe in yourself, continue to learn from your mistakes and pursue your passions.

Thank you so much Donna for your time and collaboration on this Project! It has been a privilege to work with you over the past years… All Is About People!
